The Granite City Folk Society presents the Lula Wiles Band on Sunday, March 17th, at Bo Diddley's Pub & Deli.
Out of New England by way of fiddle camps and the Berklee College of Music comes the Lula Wiles Band, the trio of Isa Burke, Eleanor Buckland, and Mali Obomsawin, with their guitars, fiddle, bass, and vocal harmonies. The band's name is "a twist on and homage to the Carter Family song 'Lula Walls,'" and their influences and inspirations include Woody Guthrie, Elizabeth Cotten, and Hazel Dickens.
